Abstract
This short contribution focuses on an aspect that received little attention in the first days after the handing down of this important judgment of the European Court of Human rights: the aspect of access to justice. It highlights the paradox of nearly unlimited access for legal persons (think ngo's) and a very high threshold for natural persons to have access to justice stipulated by the ECtHR in this judgment. This is compared with the rules on access to justice before civil courts in the Netherlands, where the access for legal persons acting in general interest litigation is equally low as in Strasbourg. This may not be the case in a series of other European countries.
