Abstract In this thesis, we have used immunolabeling and fluorescence spectroscopy to obtain more information from fingermarks. We show that the chemical composition holds a wealth of information, which can be used for (i) donor profiling, (ii) developing new fingermark development techniques and, (iii) the age estimation of fingermarks.
