| Abstract | In this thesis, we use the Langlands-Kottwitz method to study the Frobenius-Hecke traces of the étale cohomology of certain strata of Kottwitz varieties (which are certain compact unitary Shimura varieties). We express the Frobenius-Hecke traces in terms of automorphic representations and certain explicit polynomials. |
