Abstract Cultural industries have experienced dynamic growth in the Netherlands since the 1990s. Amsterdam is the indisputable cultural and creative capital of the country and one of the city’s most prominent cultural industries is the advertising industry. This study has explored processes of globalisation in the international advertising industry and the position of Amsterdam herein. The book tells us how Amsterdam has become one of the most important creative hubs of the industry and a hotspot for creative, flexible and innovative international advertising agencies.
