It Aint Easy: Using Normatively Motivated News Diversification to Facilitate Policy Support, Tolerance, and Political Participation

This archive stores data from a between-subjects experiment on the effect of exposure diversity on policy support, tolerance, and political participation. In a 2x3 experimental set-up, we tested how different levels of diversity in terms of the extent to which news feeds feature minorities and emotionally activating content. The study took place in the Netherlands in mid 2023 and involved N = 715 respondents who successfully completed the study. The archive includes raw data, processed data and analysis files from a rbetween-subjects experiment, as well as other relevant materials that were used.
