| Description |
The Tracing the Potter’s Wheel project (TPW) experimental reference collection is designed to facilitate forming technology assessment through experimental reproduction and macrotrace analysis, as well as 3D scanning and data visualisation.
TPW investigates how to identify methods of wheel use in ceramic production, to reconstruct ancient networks of technological transmission within the Bronze Age Aegean. We provide high-quality resources and standardized guidelines for researchers to learn how to technologically assess ceramic assemblages in their own research, in all periods and regions in which the potter’s wheel was a viable technology.
