| Abstract | (Un)Common Grounds was a gathering of artists and scholars at Framer Framed and KNAW, co-funded by ACES, AHM and ASCA at the UvA, which intervened in some of Europe's hottest cultural debates of the Summer of 2022: anti-Semitism allegations against Documenta fifteen, Kassel, threats and violence against some of the curators and artists. It needed the distance and networks in Amsterdam to give (art)historical backgrounds and scholarly, empathic perspectives. This is my contribution, edited down and re-focused quite substantially by my students, the editors of Simulacrum. |
