Abstract
The dissertation Artistic Journalism explores artistic journalism as an emergent practice situated at the intersection of journalism and the arts. Stijn Postema approached the field through a combination of ethnographic inquiry, grounded theory methodology, and case studies of both organisations and individual. The work demonstrates that artistic journalism is not an isolated phenomenon, but a growing constellation of practices that reimagine the boundaries of journalism, while offering new ways of researching, understanding, feeling, and engaging with current affairs. The central questions guiding this exploration are: What is artistic journalism, and how do artist-journalists navigate the field of professional journalism?
