| Abstract |
The Netherlands is well-known for its coherent road network design. Since the 1970's, transport modes have been separated, encounters between them have been regulated (e.g. through traffic lights) and speeds have been reduced. These measures have led a significant effect on traffic safety and increase in cycling.
