| Abstract |
Following the Swift detection of the reactivation of SGR 1627-41 (Palmer et al., GCN #7777; Woods et al., ATEL #1549; Golenetskii et al., GCN #7778), we searched for serendipitous pre-bursts X-ray observations of the region. Chandra observed the field of this SGR on 2008-05-27 UT 12:57:00 (Obs-ID 9007), ~20 hours before the first burst detected by BAT from SGR 1627-41. The Chandra observation was performed using HRC-I with an exposure time of ~1.2 ks, and the SGR position was at ~15' from the aimpoint of the observation.
