| Abstract |
Methodological rigor in quantitative research refers to the soundness or precision of a study in terms of planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting. To determine the accuracy of quantitative methods, social scientists have a number of indicators at hand which allow them to evaluate a study and infer about its theoretical and empirical contribution. Such indicators include the assessment of objective scores (i.e., reliable and valid measurements), but do also encompass more vague attributions about what makes “good” quantitative research.
