| Abstract |
Focus of this chapter is on cognitive psychophysiology as a bridge for two-way interaction between the study of cognitive development and research on the developing nervous system. Demonstrates how psychophysiological measures can be used to understand cognitive development in relation to brain maturation. A brief description of psychophysiological measures is followed by illustrations of how these measures may change as children grow older. Discusses two areas that are most likely to benefit from cognitive psychophysiology--selective attention and cognitive development.
