Datasets accompanying the attached publication. We explore how a defence mechanism of honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum) against herbivory, might contribute to the co-existence of generalist and honeysuckle-specialist populations of the herbivorous spider mite Tetranychus urticae in nature. The experiments were conducted in 'blocks' or 'batches', while the data collected are the cumulative number of droplets produced by honeysuckle, the total number of eggs produced by mites, or the total number of individuals in each replicate.
