Nederland geen gidsland: betere rechten voor Europese ondernemingsraden

Het wettelijk kader voor het werk van Europese ondernemingsraden stamt uit 1994. Het heeft lang geduurd alvorens deze wetgeving kon worden herzien. In 2009 is een nieuwe tekst overeengekomen tussen het Europees parlement en de Europese ministerraad. Lidstaten hadden tot juni 2011 de tijd om deze wet om te zetten in nationaal recht. In dit artikel wordt kort verslag uitgebracht van de Europese en Nederlandse stand van zaken. /// The Legal frame for the work of European Works Councils was formulated in 1994. It took a long way before this legislation was revised. In 2009 a new text was concluded between the European Parliament and the European Council. Member States had till June 2011 to implement the Directive into national law. In this article the author reports briefly on the European and the Dutch transposition.
