| Abstract |
This chapter is dedicated to the radiocarbon dating of soil organic carbon, a technique that was introduced around 1950. Interpretation of 14C dates of soil samples is complicated and requires not only detailed knowledge of the dating process itself but also of the properties of the sampled proļ¬le and the extraction methods of soil organic carbon from soil samples.
