| Abstract |
Synopsis. De mogelijk interessante toepassing van dit promotieonderzoek is dat het uit de glandula parotidea afkomstige statherine een potentieel schadelijke en virulente schimmelvorm van Candida albicans kan omzetten in de minder schadelijke gistvariant. Een op statherine gebaseerd eiwit zou klinisch reducerend kunnen werken op Candida albicans bij patiënten met droge mond, bij immuno-incompetentie en bij gevoeligheid voor overgroei van Candida albicans.
