Abstract In this article a figured pillar capital with gigantomachy scenes will be discussed. This unique capital represents an iconographic curiosity with its gigantomachy representations on two opposite sides of the square block. Apollo and Moira are represented. The capital must date from the second quarter of the second century AD, which is rather early in the known iconography. The capital is thought to be the only preserved specimen of a series of similar representations from a colonnade, but its function remains unknown, whether religious or funerary.
