| Abstract |
This paper compares digital humanities, computational social science, and digital methods by means of a scientometric analysis. Using topic modeling, co-occurrence analysis, and semantic similarity measures, it examines how these domains are organized around research objects, epistemological frameworks, and infrastructures. Analysis indicates that digital methods are semantically closer to digital humanities than to computational social science, supporting their interpretation as an epistemological framework that investigates platformized environments by means of platform-native objects, metrics, and infrastructures, while repositioning digital methods within contemporary methodological debates in media and communication studies.
