| Abstract | The authors respond to commentaries about their paper "Abstractions and Idealisations: The Construction of Modern Linguistics" particularly with respect to their analysis of the role of idealisation in modern linguistics. They explain the application of their analysis to a specific paradigm and/or part of modern linguistics. They address criticisms about the nature of idealisation and the application of such concept to linguistics. They clarify their use of the ideological label in connection with how certain idealisations are motivated. |
