Abstract This issue of Religiographies offers an excursus into the legacy of Eranos: the series of encounters held in Ascona starting in 1933 that brought together some of the most stimulating minds of the time, organised by the Dutch activist, painter and researcher Olga Fröbe-Kapteyn on the inspiration of Rudolf Otto and Carl Gustav Jung. The articles explore the influence of the meetings on the social sciences, humanities, performing and visual arts, in particular music, dance, theatre and painting.
