Description
The dataset here is described in Barmentlo et al., 2023 (doi: XXX). In short, this dataset includes Geneseek Porcine SNP Array (60k) genotypes of 881 feral swine from the United States. The animals represent hybrid descendants of European Wild boar X Western heritage breed pigs (Smyser et al., 2020). The dataset includes data from 5 different populations: from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (n=537), North Carolina (n=108), South Carolina (n=125), West Virginia (n=64) and Tennessee (n=47). Additionally, a subset of 53 Great Smoky Mountain National Park animals was strategically selected to represent the genetic range observed within GRSM for genotyping with the high-resolution Axiom Porcine Genotyping Array (600k). No filtering was performed on these samples, but the Smoky Mountain and the Outlying populations datasets were formatted to be compatible. Note that each dataset contains 3 files: a bim, a bed and a fam file. These represent variant information, binary genetic information per individual and family information, respectively.
