Abstract
Placenta accreta spectrum is an uncommon condition that requires complex interventions for optimal management. The primary factor associated with improved clinical outcomes is the involvement of trained interdisciplinary teams. Some of these interventions are not available in resource-limited settings. Telemedicine refers to the use of information technology for the provision of medical services and, in the context of placenta accreta spectrum, facilitates communication between these expert interdisciplinary teams, patients, and their physicians. This thesis addresses the challenges of managing placenta accreta spectrum in low- and middle-income countries, evaluates the existing evidence on the utility of telemedicine in managing patients with this condition, and finally, proposes future research lines in this field.
