Abstract Het stichten van een Europees noodfonds voor banken is in de huidige situatie geen goed idee, doordat het op termijn roekeloos gedrag van banken aanmoedigt en niet afstraft. Op dit moment is het onmogelijk om adequate maatregelen te nemen op Europees niveau, zolang het financiële toezicht op nationaal niveau is georganiseerd. Daarom moet er alleen een Europees noodfonds komen als er ook een Europees toezichthouder is die uniforme toezichtregels oplegt.
