Abstract
Statistics Netherlands (SN), has in recent years expressed an interest in reproducing the structure of economic and financial networks from limited information and has to that end developed its own method to do so, cf. (Hooijmaaijers and Buiten, 2019).
Before routinely using any method for producing output for national statistics, however, it is necessary to comprehend how successful such methods are in achieving the desired goal. Thus, to assess the behavior of the method described in Hooijmaaijers and Buiten (2019), its performance is compared to that of methods developed within the framework known for producing the least biased system structures with respect to the available information, known as the maximum entropy framework.
