| Abstract | Praat is an open-source cross-platform computer program for analysing, synthesizing, and manipulating speech and other sounds, and for creating publication-quality graphics. This chapter first discusses the rationale behind Praat’s design decisions, and describes how to record, view, and analyse sounds. It then discusses Praat’s more specific tools for corpus study, namely annotation and the Corpus window. |
