Australian water mites of the subfamily Notoaturinae Besch (Acari: Hydrachnidia: Aturidae), with the description of 24 new species

Abstract
New data are presented on the subfamily Notoaturinae from Australia. Twenty-four new species are described: Austraturus aculeatus n. sp., A. canaliculatus n. sp., A. lamingtonensis n. sp., A. longigenitalis n. sp., A. montanus n. sp., A. otwayensis n. sp., A. tasmanicus n. sp., Azugaturus gibberipalpis n. sp., Az. gregoryensis n. sp., Az. megalodon n. sp., Az. minimus n. sp., Barwontius elongatus n. sp., B. papillosus n. sp., B. striatus n. sp., Cabellaturus rimosus n. sp., Twarntaturus diversisetus n. sp., T. geminus n. sp., T. fimbriatus n. sp., T. kakadu n. sp., T. monodentatus n. sp., T. obliquus n. sp., T. parvulus n. sp., and T. spinosus n. sp. The female of Barwontius lunoka Cook is described for the first time. Many new records are given from Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and the Northern Territory. Keys are provided for the genera Austraturus K.O. Viets, Azugaturus Cook, Barwontius K.O. Viets and Twarntaturus Cook.
