| Abstract | Kurzbauer reports on the inaugural Trans-Siberian Art Festival, held March 31-April 12, 2014 in Novosibirsk, Russia. Founded by Russian-born Belgian violinist Vadim Repin, the festival is his gift to his hometown. Sometimes called "the Chicago of Russia," Novosibirsk is known as a city built on heavy industry that also boasts a thriving cultural scene. |
