| Abstract |
After discussing the patterns of politicisation in all seven countries separately, we move to cross-country comparisons. This allows us to identify general patterns that exist across all seven countries, and detect in which ways some patterns are country-specific. We will thus examine whether seemingly idiosyncratic patterns in the country chapters are actually reflections of structural features. In addition to addressing these questions, this chapter also serves as the conclusion of the book and relates its main findings to the wider literature.
