Abstract
The ‘FNV cao-databank’ is a digital database that stores all collective labour agreements negotiated by FNV trade unions in the Netherlands since 1995. Every agreement has been coded with respect to 650 different characteristics. The DUCADAM dataset is both a scientific translation of this database and an extension of it. The extension consists of newly created meta-variables, which are not actually included in CLAs but are closely tied to them.

In the DUCADAM dataset codebook, the complete dataset is described, with a special focus on the design of the meta-variables. Specific problems that social scientists may encounter when doing research on collective labour agreements are clarified and solved. The reader also learns about other CLA databases in the Netherlands and about the project background regarding the construction of the DUCADAM dataset. In the final chapter, several research projects that make use of the FNV cao-databank and/or the DUCADAM dataset are described. In the appendices, one can find extensive tables with information about all collective agreements and about the variables themselves.

This codebook is a useful source of information for social scientists, journalists, policy-makers and others who are concerned with industrial relations and collective agreements.
