| Abstract |
Chapter 5 is dedicated to biomarker analysis of soil archives, introduced in earth surface studies in the first decennium of the 21st century. This technique is still in a juvenile stadium of development and the interpretation of the biomass spectra requires more references, but the first results are promising. Biomarker analysis, applied to samples of soil archives, provides relevant information as an extra to pollen analysis.
