| Abstract |
Reperfusion therapy for patients with acute ischemic stroke is focused at restoring blood flow and saving the penumbra. It is currently comprised of intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular thrombectomy. Both treatments have rapidly evolved over the years, extending the time window in which patients can be treated, and thereby increasing the number of eligible patients. The emphasis should be focused on timely treatment, as time it brain. This thesis describes the results of several workflow improvements both regional as national, and results of clinical decision making in the acute stroke care setting.
