| Abstract |
This paper is an inquiry into the responsive nature of translation and the relationships founded in repetition between the original and translated texts. In further consideration of the translator’s responsibility, this inquiry will offer a specific approach to translation that is descended from the iterative order (here, identity and negation are paramount). This investigation will propose that the translator is both a sentinel and substitute for disappearance and will conclude by arguing that the impossibility of replication will perpetually render the text untranslatable. |
