| Abstract |
During our archaeological surveys and explorations of Zakynthos in the framework of the Zakynthos Archaeology Project, it has become clear that prehistoric pottery is abundantly present on the island and widely distributed in the landscape. Unfortunately, much of the material is very fragmentary and worn. In this article, we give an overview of the presence of recognizable Early and Middle Bronze Age pottery on the island. From this overview, it can be concluded that these were dynamic periods on the island, in which a social process of nucleation can be observed. There were extensive connections between different parts of Zakynthos and with the Peloponnese and the other Ionian Islands.
