| Abstract | Scholarly edition of the Pforzheimer Gissing collection held by the Lilly Library, Indiana University, Bloomington,IN, USA. Over a period of almost a quarter century (1880-1903) Gissing collected a great variety of material for use in his fiction. The Scrapbook consists of 25 groups of MS comprising 70 leaves folio, 7 leaves 4to. plus 8 leaves 8vo. and 12mo., newspaper clippings, in all about 25,000 - 30,000 words in Gissing's holograph, plus a large quantity of mounted and loose clippings, ephemera, etc. |
