| Abstract | In this chapter, we cover the formation of protoplanetary disk as a natural byproduct of the gravitational collapse of a slowly rotating, hydrostatic cloud. We also summarise the structure of such a disk as it results from hydrostatic equilibrium and viscous accretion. |
