| Abstract |
The general aim of this thesis is to investigate the difficulties in correctly calling cells circulating and disseminated tumor cells in patients with high-risk and metastatic prostate and urothelial cancer and the urgent need for disease-specific markers in the detection of these cells. As reflected in its title, this thesis is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on circulating tumor cells; the second part of this thesis is directed towards the role of disseminated tumor cells in the development of overt metastases.
