| Abstract | Enterprises that trade internationally employ more staff and pay higher wages than non-traders. However, as Chapter 6 showed, the relationship between international trade and various employment variables is not homogeneous. Adding to the previous analysis of the role of the portfolio of geographic origins and destinations of trade, this chapter analyses whether the type of product that is imported and/or exported by an enterprise provides an additional explanation for differences in employment and wages. |
