Abstract The book provides an original relational framework analysis of the different actors, institutions, and levels of political regimes involved in the advancements and setbacks regarding these rights. It also shines a light on the roles that civil society movements and social media influence these disputes. Current phenomena are analyzed through a relational framework from different sub-regions in Latin America. The book provides a unique analysis of how disputes over progressive rights relate to wider advancements and setbacks concerning democratic regimes.
