Abstract In this chapter, we raise awareness of personal, social, and organizational challenges that people with chronic health conditions face when they aspire to and/or hold leadership positions. We explain how chronic health conditions affect the available resources and self-image of (potential) leaders and how employees perceive and interact with (potential) leaders with chronic health conditions. Finally, we offer action and design recommendations to facilitate people with chronic health conditions in accessing and performing leadership roles.
