Core Issue(s): Whether Article 105 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, in combination with United Nations Security Council Resolutions, provided a 'procedure prescribed by law' as required by Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights and hence sufficed as a legal basis for detention at sea in the context of counter-piracy missions.
