Obtained data on arithmetic computation and motor coordination from 206 twin pairs (aged 18-34 yrs). Ss were measured before and 3 times after ingesting a standard dose of alcohol. The application of simplex models for the genetic analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) structures in a repeated-measures design is illustrated, and the results are compared with factor models for the 2 psychomotor measures. Analyses confirm the notion that there is a genetic variation affecting psychomotor performance that is switched on in the presence of alcohol.
