Abstract
Fotogeïnduceerde processen zijn van cruciaal belang voor het opwekken van energie en daardoor essentieel voor het voortbestaan van het leven. Door het organiseren van elektrondonoren en -acceptoren in (supra)moleculaire systemen - met behulp van covalente en niet-covalente bindingen of als dunne vaste films - is het in principe mogelijk actieve architecturen te maken die zich (deels) zullen gedragen als de natuurlijke systemen. Vân-Anh Nguyễn keek naar fotogeïnduceerde energieoverdrachtsprocessen tussen peryle-enbisimide-eenheden (PDI; antenne die het zonlicht absorbeert) en fuller-eenheden, en daarnaast naar fotogeïnduceerde elektronenoverdracht. In dunne films vond ze een complex fotofysisch gedrag met diverse (kinetisch verschillende) ladinggescheiden toestanden.
