- The Horeca sector is a small, dynamic sector of the Dutch economy, employing around 4% of all employees. Nearly 90% of companies
are small and employ fewer than 10 employees. The employers are mainly organised in the Royal Dutch Horeca, while the employees
are mainly organised in the Horeca union of FNV. The economic crisis has had a major impact on the sector’s employment. The
collective labour agreement, which is extended to the whole sector, comes close to legal minimum standards.
