Abstract The Indo-Pacific nassariids Nassarius castus (Gould, 1850), N. vitiensis (Hombron & Jacquinot in Rousseau, 1854), N. rufus (Dunker, 1847), N. kiiensis Kira, 1954, and N. caelatus (A. Adams, 1852) are compared. Previously, the last four species were often thought to fall withing the variability of the former, or regarded as synonyms. Reasons are given why each of these five taxa should be regarded as a full species.
