AbstractWorking memory is a function that enables one to hold information in mind and practise this information on daily tasks. For children this ability is a key aspect for their performances at school. Children who suffer from a poor working memory can therefore experience academic problems at school. In order to explore improvement of working memory, the main question in this thesis is: What is the role of working memory training on children with poor working memory? Results indicate that computerized working memory training can be effective for children with working memory deficits. Furthermore, this training could serve as an effective treatment for children with ADHD, especially in combination with stimulant medication. Working memory training could be a viable way to help children who struggle with attention, hyperactivity problems or even learning difficulties in the classroom.
