AbstractErectile dysfunction (ED) is a very common problem among older men, 52% of men between 40 and 70 years old suffer from this disease. A lot of these men are too embarrassed to go to their physician with this problem and turn to the Internet for the most common treatment for ED: Viagra®. This paper discusses whether it is safe to order this drug online from the disciplines medicine, chemistry and media&culture. The dysfunction, the safety of the real and imitational drug and the online information providing are considered. It is found that it is possible to buy the real Viagra® on the Internet safely, when you go to the official sites and fill out the right forms. These sites use questionnaires for describing the drug, which more intensive than a consult by a physician. But one must be aware of the possibly dangerous counterfeits and imitations that are for sale online as well, and of the fact that Viagra is not a solution for all forms of ED.
