| Abstract | We can hear, see, feel, smell and taste. These stimuli often occur together, belonging to the same object. Stimuli of different modalities activate different brain areas. So to form a unimodal representation of an object, integration of all modalities must somehow take place. To find such a multisensory integration pathway we want to look at neuronal data from four different brain areas in a rat, namely the visual cortex, the barrel cortex, the perirhinal cortex and the hippocampus. The rat has to perform a task where multimodal integration is needed. In this paper the experimental setup and behavioral data are presented. |
