SamenvattingUsed a correlational design to assess the Dental Anxiety Inventory's (DAI's) convergent and discriminant validity with 464 Dutch university students. The DAI showed high correlation with Corah's Dental Anxiety Scale (convergent validity); small correlations with anxiety, fear, and neuroticism measures (discriminant validity); and nonsignificant correlations with unrelated scales. Results suggest that psychotherapy for anxious dental patients may require specific interventions aimed at dental anxiety rather than conventional general interventions
